Our family picked pumpkins today. This is the 2nd year we’ve gone to Deere Farms in Lanesville, Indiana. They’ve had a hard couple years. Last year, the pumpkin patches were swampy and way too wet. This year, there has been so little rain, they had to buy pumpkins to roll out into their pumpkin patch. But, despite all that, we’ve had a good time both years. It’s a family-owned and operated farm and they really bend over backwards to help you have a good time.
Halloween was always one of my favorite times of year. I really love fall, well, and spring, too. It was fun to don our cooler-weather attire and head for the pumpkin patch. The light was perfect for catching a couple good shots of our family. It’s nice to be able to support a local farm. We recently became members of the Community Farm Alliance. Their motto is "No Farms No Food". Cameron, especially, is really into the small, diversified farm idea.
On a side note, Lila did amazingly well at Ballet class last week. She is really quite good at the moves and is enough of a drama queen to really get into the poses and such. This week I'm hoping to move out into the waiting room instead of staying with her. However, I must admit it's been really fun to watch her successes!
